Voluntary Right to Buy (VRTB)

Voluntary Right to Buy (VRTB)

The Autumn 2017 Budget confirmed the Government’s intention to proceed with a large-scale regional pilot of the Voluntary Right to Buy (VRTB) scheme in the Midlands.

The pilot is intended to provide more information to Housing Associations and the Government before the scheme is launched nationwide.

Accord is keen to explore how elements of the VRTB scheme will operate, and, whilst the government hasn’t yet determined full eligibility, you can email buymyhome@accordgroup.org.uk if you would like to register your interest for the Right to Buy your Accord home.

Accord is taking part in the pilot, however once we have more information on the plans for the VRTB Scheme we will provide further information to you.

We will also update our website and social media channels with updated information as we receive it including details of when the pilot will launch, which housing associations will be included in the pilot and what the eligibility criteria will be for interested customers.

The National Housing Federation has also produced some questions and answers that may be of use to you. You can also take a look at the information provided by Right to Buy Agents

There is also useful information on VRTB via the MHCLG Right to Buy website, Right to Buy Facebook page and the Money Advice Service.
