Work to build more than 60 affordable homes on the site of a former school in Walsall looks set to be completed by next summer.

Formal release of planning permission to build a total of 63 dwellings on land at the former Daw End Special School in Floyds Lane, Rushall, was granted last month. The scheme will see affordable rented homes built with a mixture of two to three bedroom houses and a block of one to two bedroom apartments. Work on 12 one bedroom apartments, 12 two bedroom apartments, 29 two and ten three bedroom houses are due for completion in summer 2018.

The site itself was vacant but used to house the premises of the Daw End Special School which was demolished several years ago.
